Payroll Accountant – High Level Assistant

Seeking an Experienced Payroll Manager whom is very detailed oriented and loves working with clients of various industries! The ideal candidate should have an experienced payroll background with strong leadership skills in managing work load to ensure accuracy in processing while working as a team with all staff to provide the best service and product to the client. Looking for someone that can lead this important area of our firm with professionalism, a positive attitude of service to the client and to other staff and most importantly attention to detail of the work being performed.

We prefer a candidate with a minimum of three years of experience in public accounting. Special emphasis on payroll preparation of different types of businesses and entities. Must have experience in all aspects of payroll from calculation, preparation of checks, tax calculations, tax deposits, garnishments, payroll reports, workers' compensation and year-end reporting. Additional experience in accounting, data entry and QuickBooks would be a bonus.

Staff Accountant

Our firm focuses on individual, partnership and corporate tax returns, business financial statement preparation and consulting.  Having payroll preparation and QuickBooks experience would be a definite advantage.  Excellent communication stills, multi-tasking and attention to detail are imperative.  Good knowledge of general ledger accounting principles and practices gained through education or practical experience are a must.

Responsibilities Include:

Communicate with team members in a timely, accurate, positive and professional manner 
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual accounting for financial statements and tax trial balances
Perform Reconciliations and Adjusting Journal Entries

Assist in tax return preparation as skills advance

Assist in payroll check and payroll report preparation

Qualifications 
Requires a Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting 

Experience with QuickBooks, and Payroll Preparation

Must have the ability to adhere to tight deadlines, and solve problems independently
Public accounting experience is preferred

Responsibilities Include:

Respond to client and firm requests in a timely, accurate, positive and professional manner 
Communicate with clients and staff regarding open items, other important matters in a timely manner 
Prepare and or review financial statements and footnotes, management reports, and other engagement output
Some travel required to client sites

Perform Reconciliations and Adjusting Journal Entries

Additional Responsibilities:
Prepare tax-related information to include tax provisions, depreciation schedules, property tax returns, etc. 
Provide technical accounting assistance to clients and/or staff members

Participate in various firm and client projects as they arise or additional projects that present themselves

Qualifications 
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting 

CPA Certification Required

Experience with Quickbooks, and Payroll Preparation

Must have the ability to manage multiple clients, adhere to tight deadlines, and solve problems independently
Requires 3 years of job related experience 
Public accounting experience is preferred
